More than 100 family members of those lost in the Erebus aircrash tragedy are travelling to Antarctica on a remembrance flight next week.
The Royal New Zealand Air Force will fly one of its Boeing 757 aircraft to Scott Base on Wednesday with 104 family members on board, Air New Zealand said.
Family members would spend approximately five hours on the ground at Scott Base, and participate in a memorial service. They would come from across New Zealand, as well as 13 from overseas.
On November 28 1979, Air New Zealand Flight 901 was on an Antarctica sightseeing tour when it crashed into Mount Erebus, killing all 257 people on board.
