Two parents who are facing charges of neglecting their children appeared in the Lower Hutt District Court today.
Both have interim name suppression.
The pair have been charged with allegedly neglecting their four young children - one charge each for each child.
The father was remanded in custody until Thursday for a bail hearing application.
The mother will have a bail application heard later today.
The pair were supported by family members when they appeared separately today.
On January 4, Hutt Valley Police were called to reports of disorder at a Lower Hutt address.
Since then, Police and Child Youth and Family commenced a joint investigation into the family involved in this incident.
The Officer in Charge of the Hutt Valley Family Violence Team, Detective Sergeant Emma Foote earlier said the aim of police and social services was to help in providing a safer environment for the children.
The four children, aged between four years and seven months have been placed into custody of Child Youth and Family.
Jinwoo Park was a strong swimmer and not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
