KEY POINTS:
Family members of a missing Whangarei eye surgeon joined coastguard, police and surf lifesaving patrol boats yesterday in the fourth day of sea and shoreline searches for 46-year-old Dr Geoffrey Wallace.
Dr Wallace has not been seen since he left One Tree Point to cross Whangarei Harbour to his home in Parua Bay in his 2.7m aluminium dinghy late on Wednesday.
The dinghy, oars and a hat were found next day washed up on rocks inside the harbour entrance but there was no trace of Dr Wallace or the dinghy's outboard motor.
