Police have found a car stolen from the parents of a cancer-stricken 1-year-old boy, who also had their house burgled while away getting emergency treatment for the boy.
Lower Hutt couple Caroline and Darren Williamson, whose son Daniel was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia on December 22, had their car stolen while they were away in Christchurch on Boxing Day.
The next night, their Alicetown house was burgled.
Police said today that the blue Nissan Sentra station wagon had been located on Trinity Ave in nearby Epuni with the keys inside.
When contacted by police, the owners were extremely happy that it had been located.
