The daughter of a liquor shop co-manager hit by a car in a robbery gone wrong says she is focusing on her dad getting better.
Jack Gasnier, 59, is in a serious condition in hospital after being run over by a good samaritan who tried to stop thieves stealing fourbottles of liquor last Tuesday.
He is in Waikato Hospital with a smashed pelvis, crushed ribs and broken collarbone, and the family have been told he is likely to be in the unit for another two weeks.
His daughter Alice Gasnier said police had told them of the arrest of an 18-year-old man on Monday.
"We are not thinking about that at the moment. Dad's a priority at the moment."
Mr Walworth said the driver of the car had spoken to his son Adrian, who also worked in the store.
He said the driver was "pretty upset" and he and his wife had arranged to go and talk to staff.
Mr Walworth said he was pleased one of the two men had handed himself in but hoped police caught the ringleader.
One of the shoplifters was bought into the Cambridge police station last week after a family member recognised him from the description in the media. The man was arrested and will appear in Hamilton District Court tomorrow.
Meanwhile, police are appealing for information about Levi James Newport, 20, of Hamilton, who was caught on the store's security camera footage. A Maori, he is 182cm in height, of medium build and should not be approached.
