The families of some of New Zealand's most high profile murder victims are banding together to toughen bail laws.
Grieving relatives will gather at the High Court at Auckland next week to back a campaign for law changes following the killing of 18-year-old Christie Marceau last November.
Marceau died in her mother's arms after a violent attack at the family's North Shore home. The man charged with her murder was on bail at the time.
The families of murdered Auckland schoolboy Augustine Borrell, slain Christchurch woman Vanessa Anne Pickering and Natasha Hayden - who was strangled near Tauranga in January 2005 - have pledged their support for "Christie's Law".
The parents of Liberty Templeman, who was murdered in Kerikeri three years ago, have also signed up to show their support.
