Families who went to the first Greytown Lioness Club Teddy Bears Picnic on Sunday say it was fantastic.
The picnic was held at the Greytown Rail Trail.
Club fundraising convenor Viv Green said it was a wonderful afternoon for all despite weather that was less than ideal.
The day was organised to help promote the track which allows people to walk, run or cycle.
It was also a fun day for families as well as an opportunity to fundraise for child cancer.
As well as the presence of teddy bears, Greytown Lions held a barbecue and there were vintage car rides and a petting zoo.
There was also a ferris wheel, face painting, ice-creams and entertainment by singing Reverend Andy Eldred.
Greytown dad Geoff Francis spent the afternoon at the picnic.
"It's great, and obviously the track's fantastic as well," he said.
"We use it all the time for cycling."
Mrs Green was unsure how much money was raised by the picnic.
The crash happened 10km south of the town just after 8pm.
