Save The Auckland International Airport had to be evacuated for a short time tonight, after a fire sensor was triggered.
The ground floor of the terminal was evacuated just after 9.30pm.
An airport spokeswoman said an internal fire sensor had been falsely triggered, which led to the evacuation.
Shortly before 10pm,
she confirmed people had been allowed back inside.
A northern fire communications spokesman said they had not been called to the scene.
