Christchurch police are warning people to be on the lookout for counterfeit $100 notes circulating in the city.
The Christchurch fraud squad warned bar owners the notes were circulating during the Lions rugby tour, but Detective Marg Callanan said about eight more had been handed in since then by dairy owners.
"When $100 notes are presented they should be carefully checked to see if they are real before being accepted. Check the watermark and security strip and handle them to see if they feel right."
