Faith was New Zealand's last hippopotamus

New Zealand has lost its last hippopotamus.

Auckland Zoo said 41-year-old Faith had fallen ill over the past few days, and staff euthanised her when her condition deteriorated yesterday.

Faith's son, Fudge, died in March.
