Taylor Frost and Becky Sutton, both 5, joined a cast of pixies, wizards and pirates at the Ellerslie Spring Fairy Festival yesterday morning.
The free community event, now in its 12th year, overran the Ellerslie Town Centre in Auckland, leaving it awash in bubbles, glitter, magic dust and a kaleidoscope of colours.
Ellerslie's main street was closed for the event, which attracted hundreds of children.
Highlights included a troupe of dancing fairies and a visit from Peter Pan, Captain Hook and his pirates.
