KEY POINTS:
Department of Labour inspectors were today continuing their investigation into a fairground ride that went out of control in Gisborne yesterday injuring a number of children.
Six children were taken to Gisborne Hospital yesterday after being tossed off the Explorer joyride when it malfunctioned and spun out on control at the city's A & P Show yesterday.
Fortunately none of the children were seriously injured and all but one was allowed to home after treatment.
A 10-year-old girl with a back injury is expected to be discharged today.
The Department of Labour said the ride would remain out of service until the cause of the malfunction had been established and rectified.
The ride's owners the Mahon family have expressed their regret over the incident and apologised to the parents of the injured children.
