KEY POINTS:
An armed man has been caught by police after an attempted carjacking in Masterton yesterday afternoon.
Inspector Steve Darroch said the man threatened the occupants of a car with a knife in Queen St at about 4.30pm, and attempted to take the vehicle. The occupants managed to drive off and called police.
The 20-year-old alleged offender was caught by police a short time later.
