An Auckland man yesterday underwent surgery on his face following an attack involving a tomahawk.
Police said the victim was approached by two men wearing white spraypainter-like suits outside an East Tamaki business about 1am yesterday and was asked for money.
The man grabbed an iron bar and ran but was chased by the two men, one of whom was carrying a tomahawk. He was hit on the face but his injuries are not life-threatening.
