Two Catholic clergymen wanted by police to face a number of historical sex abuse allegations against children have been bailed by a Christchurch court.
The two men arrived in New Zealand early today after being extradited from Australia.
They were bailed - subject to conditions - at a brief hearing at Christchurch District Court.
Rodger Moloney, 71, and Raymond Garchow, 59, flew in from Sydney at about midnight.
The High Court in Sydney on Monday turned down an application by the two clergymen to appeal their extradition order.
The men are accused of various sexual offences against boys between 1971 and 1980 at the former Maryland's School for the intellectually disadvantaged.
Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse Trust manager Ken Clearwater says they have been working on getting the men extradited since 2002 and are grateful they are here to now face the allegations.
