Telstraclear's chief executive, Rosemary Howard, will be among the guests at Rosmini College, Takapuna, on Tuesday to promote careers in technology and engineering to secondary school students.
Smales Farm and Massey University on Auckland's North Shore have run a programme called 21st Century Career Pathways in Technology to put students in touch with New Zealand businesspeople who have talked to them about the role engineers and technologists play in their companies. Topics have included product design, food technology, biotechnology, telecommunications, and IT services.
The final evening of the programme will feature presentations and a panel discussion with questions from the audience. Speakers will include technology company CEOs such as Peter Maire of Navman, Elizabeth Hopkins of Encoate, and CleanFlow Systems, a technology start-up company.
The programme also includes presentations from Massey University, Albany Campus, assistant vice-chancellor John Raine.
It is at the Rosmini College auditorium, 6.45pm-8.45pm.
