A Korean exorcist who did not defend himself on a manslaughter charge more than three years ago in Auckland is now trying to have his conviction overturned.
Yong Bum Lee was removed from New Zealand in January after serving part of the six-year jail term imposed in 2001 after Korean woman Joanna Lee, 37, died during an exorcism in December 2000.
Last November Lee swore an affidavit asking the Court of Appeal to consider his case. He did not believe he was responsible for the death of Ms Lee.
