Turangi patients may get a dose of the same medicine their Taupo neighbours are getting.
"Exercise on prescription", a scheme to get non-active people moving, will be offered in Taupo from next month.
It goes a step further than the successful "green prescription" programme that last year encouraged 6000 participants nationally to get more energetic.
Selected patients in the Taupo District Council scheme will be prescribed a 10-week supervised personal exercise regime by their general practitioners at little or no cost.
