Organiser Sue Latta has no doubts the "Rumble In Da Rapa" Muay Thai kick boxing tournament in Featherston on Saturday night will have the expected capacity crowd on the edge of their seats.
A total of 13 bouts have been programmed and Latta is confident all of them will provide spectacular action.
"I can see most of them going the full distance, everyone should get their money's worth," she said.
Two national women's titles will be up for grabs, the bantamweight featuring Angela Orr of Dannevirke and Angela Bennett of Palmerston North and the junior flyweight Ashleigh Ahipene of Dannevirke and Meenal Prasad of Wellington.
Latta herself sees the Dannevirke pair of Orr and Ahipene as perhaps starting slight favourites but warns that previous clashes suggest the results could easily go the other way as well. Both these bouts will be over five two minute rounds.
Another highlight is sure to be the very last fight of the night which will see the 145kg George Murray of Featherston up against the 95kg Pane Haraki of Napier.
Latta coaches Murray and is delighted with his physical condition as he prepares to represent New Zealand at the world Muay Thai championships in Bangkok in late November.
In fact, profits from Saturday night's tourney will go towards helping defray expenses for the South Wairarapoa portion of that New Zealand team.
