A former Takapuna Grammar school teacher has had his appeal against a sentence for supplying methamphetamine dismissed.
David Norman Arthur was convicted in August last year and sentenced to two years in jail.
He did not appeal against the conviction, only the sentence.
In a hearing at the Court of Appeal in Auckland lasting less than a minute, Justice Robert Chambers today dismissed the case.
Full details were due to be released later.
Arthur had in the original case denied a charge of supplying methamphetamine to four young people at a party in his Glen Eden home in 2003.
During the party he took a video of teenagers freely smoking pure methamphetamine.
The trial raised his sexuality, drinking and lifestyle but the jury were told they had to put aside personal feelings of anger and distaste.
The jury took seven hours to find him guilty after the five-day trial in August.
