The boxer whose planned bout against Sonny Bill Williams was cancelled because of criminal allegations, will plead guilty to some of the charges, says his lawyer.
Richard Tutaki had been training to fight the All Black at Hamilton's Claudelands Arena next month but was axed after details emerged of criminal allegations.
Tutaki appeared in Auckland District Court today charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug utensils, breach of bail, three counts of receiving stolen property, unlawfully getting into a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, failing to remain stopped and giving false details to police.
His lawyer Mary Kennedy said Tutaki faced "a large number of charges'' and she requested more time to speak to the Department of Corrections and to get more information about the charges.
"Richard Tutaki will be pleading guilty to some of the charges,'' she told the court.
