The appearance of former Black Cap pace bowler Michael Mason will be the feature of the Greytown Cricket Club's old-timers day tomorrow.
Mason, 37, played for Greytown at the start of his hugely successful cricketing career and went on to represent New Zealand in 26 one-day internationals, one test and three Twenty20 games.
And he couldn't have wished for a better ending to a lengthy provincial stint with Central Districts, taking them to a memorable 2-wicket win over Auckland in this season's one-day final. Batting at 10, Mason came to the crease with CD needing 58 to win and his unbeaten 41 from 19 balls included two 6s.
Mason will play in a 15-over match tomorrow featuring a Greytown past players team against a Wairarapa invitation side and the Greytown premier men's team are scheduled to two games in the More FM Cup Twenty20 competition, the first of them against Rathkeale and the second against Lansdowne.
The other More FM Cup match tomorrow sees Red Star taking on Wairarapa College at the park oval in Masterton.
