A chlorine leak scare at the Glen Innes Aquatic Centre in Auckland forced an evacuation this morning.
Fire fighters said the leak was found in the pool pump at about 7.30am.
Fire Service northern communications shift manager Jaron Phillips said the level of gas was checked and fire fighters ventilated the centre.
However, facility manager Mike McLean said there was no leak and life guards called the fire department as a precaution after smelling chlorine.
He said there are chlorine senses at the pool but they did not go off.
Mr McLean said the chlorine level was tested and found to be within safe limits.
