Escaped convict Lex John Miller's getaway car has been found in Rotorua but the fugitive is still on the run.
Miller escaped from Rangipo Prison near Turangi eight days ago and Rotorua police believe he is now driving a burgundy Holden Rodeo pick-up truck number CWA630.
Miller is Pakeha and was last seen wearing blue jeans, white sneakers and a tan shirt.
He is dangerous and should not be approached.
In 2008, Miller was jailed for the kidnapping and attempted murder of his estranged wife.
