KEY POINTS:
The Environmental Risk Management Authority (Erma) has revoked approvals for the use of methyl parathion, a pesticide used against insects and mites.
The European Union banned the pesticide in 2003.
In New Zealand, no products containing methyl parathion have been registered since 2004, Erma said.
Other substances being re-evaluated include the fumigant methyl bromide, insecticides azinphos methyl, endosulfan, dichlorvos and trichlorfon, and the herbicide methylarsinic acid.
