Pasifika youth from around the country are being encouraged to apply for the Prime Minister's Pacific Youth Awards, which pay tribute to top students excelling in their chosen fields of study.
Now in its fifth year, the awards come with prizes to continue to help winning recipients in their chosen areas.
In the past, prizes have included missionary trips overseas and internships at some of New Zealand's leading companies, including a year's work at Weta Workshop.
Pacific Peoples Minister, Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga, today announced applications for this year's awards will open from tomorrow and end November 2.
"Our government recognises that the Pacific community are one of the largest and youngest populations in New Zealand. Making sure they thrive is crucial for the country's economic and culture future,'' he said.
