Greytown Community Board have agreed to fund up to $10,000 to "beautify" Greytown's southern entrance.
A a community board meeting earlier this week Karl Nesbitt, of City Care, gave a proposal for planting at the entrance.
The board agreed to commission City Care arborists to do the work which will include the tidying and removal of some existing trees and the planting of kowhai.
Chair of Greytown Community Board Christine Stevenson said Greytown's entrance looked untidy and needed improvement.
"It is important because at the moment there is a whole lot of patch-like planting and it just needs to be tidied up," Ms Stevenson said.
