The Citizens Initiated Referendum on the question "Do you support the Government selling up to 49 per cent of Meridian Energy, Mighty River Power, Genesis Power, Solid Energy and Air New Zealand?" will run from November 22 to December 13.
People need to be enrolled to participate in the referendum.
This Sunday, the Electoral Commission will start its campaign to ensure people are correctly enrolled, with a postal drop.
To enrol or update your details, fill in a new enrolment form. Enrolment forms are available from the elections website www.elections.org.nz; freephone 0800 36 76 56; by Freetexting your name and address to 3676; or from any PostShop. The result of the referendum will be announced on December 17.
