Finance Minister Bill English has been cleared by the Auditor-General over his housing allowance claims.
English correctly completed the declarations he was required to and there was no need for a formal inquiry, the Auditor-General's office said.
Further attention was needed on the rules and administrative systems for ministerial and parliamentary accommodation entitlements, they said.
The Auditor-General was asked to investigate housing allowances received by English in September.
English welcomed the Auditor-General's announcement.
