Tax policy: Spending

At the same time spending has risen from $34.4 billion in 1999 to a forecast $45.3 billion in the year to June 2005 – with further spending increases to come. Finance Minister Michael Cullen has been saving about $2 billion each year in the NZ Superannuation Fund.
