Keith Ebden is confused by the latest LTSA television ad where they liken a car crashing at 90km/h to dropping from the first floor of a building. He writes: "They claim that crashing at 125km/h is a lot more serious (which indeed it is) - they liken it to the 9th floor of that building. When we first saw that ad it just didn't ring true and so I did some basic calculations. It turns out that the "facts" shown in the ad are quite incorrect. To reach a velocity of 90km/h the car would have to be dropped from 32m, which is a lot more than the 1st floor of a building. And this increases to approx 62m for the 125km/h case. On the other hand, if we assume that the first floor is 4m high then the velocity on impact is only 32km/h. Whilst not wishing to detract from the safety message it is a worry if the people responsible can get their facts so wrong!"

The majority of ladies were offended by single Tony's generalisation that "all the women of this country are arrogant and after money", others were happy to overlook his sentiments and wanted Sideswipe to forward their flirty emails: Jacky was miffed that Tony suggested all women were after was money. "Not all of us are. Just like not all men just want sex?" (Maybe not the best comparison - Sideswipe). Another reader suggested perhaps the reason Tony is still single is his own fault ... "After all, there is no greater turn off than a bitter person," she says. Kiei from BOP was bemused by his need to list his own assets as attributes and suggests this smacks of hypocrisy. Melissa makes a good - if slightly hysterical - point ... "How any single women could remain 'arrogant' in these times is beyond me ... they sure get their self-esteem knocked out of them every day they open the newspaper and are forced to read about man droughts, fertility crises and doctors telling them they need to settle for Mr OK and stop holding out for Mr Right, if they ever want to have a baby!"
