Easter egg for a real mate: Josh Hoodle commented to his girlfriend, Kerrin Osborne, how cool it would be if you could buy a Lion Red Easter egg ... With a little Kiwi ingenuity, Kerrin made his dream come true. (If Lion would like to reward Kerrin's initiative, a delivery address can be provided by emailing Sideswipe.)

The lunacy laws regarding Easter Sunday trading stumped this reader: "How come I could, if I had so desired, have bought any number of pornographic, so-called "girly" magazines from my local superette, but the lady refused to sell me a six-pack of Stella from the hugely stocked beer and wine display 'because it's against the law today'?"

A popular central Auckland cafe, apparently disinclined to pay staff the requisite time-and-a-half and a day in lieu on Good Friday, instead hires 11-year-old boys as waiters for $5 an hour ($2.60 below the minimum youth wage), yet still adds a 15 per cent "Public Holiday Surcharge" to the bill.

A goth writes: "The shootings at the high school in America were tragic, but I would like to say the way the media have portrayed the teenage killer is stereotypical. I'm a teenager whom the public would label a Goth, and now, thanks to the newspapers saying he was a Goth because he wore a black trenchcoat and was into Nazism, I have a close friend who is now not allowed to socialise with me. Because of the way I dress, her mother doesn't want her near me. Just because I dress differently doesn't mean I'm into fascism or Nazism. I'm actually against it. So I would just like to say, know me before you judge me. And anyone could have brought a gun to school, even if they looked 'normal'. Oh, how I can't wait to get back to school and have teachers look at me sideways because I have strange drawings in my books and band names that are Goth."

P. Diddy shares his wisdom : "Women are more different than anything, any creature, [any] beautiful animal in the world. They're just the most complex, different. I don't think no human being has been able to just figure out the woman. As complicated as I'm explaining it to you, that's how it is." (Source: Popbitch.com)
