What were they thinking? The weekly New York Press has published a tasteless cover story that makes fun of 84-year-old Pope John Paul's medical decline. The story is headlined: "The 52 Funniest Things About the Upcoming Death of the Pope." One of the least cringe-making jibes is No 47: "Upon death, Pope's face frozen in sickening smile, eyes wide open and teeth exposed, like a baboon."

Reason.com (see link below) reports: "If you are thinking about having your face Botoxed or your breasts enlarged, then you might want to avoid Illinois and Washington. Their state legislatures are considering "vanity" taxes on plastic surgery. The taxes would not apply to reconstructive surgery for burn victims, women who have undergone mastectomies, or others who have surgery done for 'medical' reasons."
