Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, just as being with tall people makes you tall.
Legalising gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behaviour. People may even wish to marry their pets.
Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all: women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites and divorce is still illegal.
Straight marriage would be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britney Spears' 55-hour fun marriage would be destroyed. Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why, as a society, we expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to the internet or longer lives.

A reader was about to bin her museum donation receipt when she decided to call the museum and ask whether the museum was considered a charity organisation by the IRD, therefore rendering donations of $5 or over tax-deductible. "The lady I was put through to said, 'Oh, I don't think so, only for any amount over $5, because the $5 isn't really a donation'. Your story in today's paper confirms there is nothing voluntary about the $5 at all, and that the museum staff see it as a minimum. I'm submitting my $5 receipts to the IRD anyway, along with receipts for the other 'donations' I have little choice about, such as school donations.
