Chinese New Year celebrations saw an array of colour, culture and cuisine at the Northcote Shopping Centre on Saturday.
Chinese New Year is one of the world's largest festivals, celebrated on the lunar new year rather than the calendar new year. It is the longest and most important festival in the Chinese calendar. Saturday's event on Auckland's North Shore featured a Cantonese opera, traditional dance, colourful costumes and food. The event has been marked for more than 3000 years.
