An emotionally charged meeting this morning addressed the issues of street prostitution in South Auckland.
Members of Parliament, local board members and people from the community have made their views clear at the Papatoetoe gathering.
Around 100 people filled the meeting room this morning, many with placards making it clear they don't want prostitution in their streets.
NZ First MP Asenati Lole-Taylor focused on a Bill in Parliament's ballot, which would make street prostitution illegal and confine workers to licensed brothels.
But guest speaker Georgina Beyer said recriminalisation is not the answer, instead saying the primary Act needs to be amended.
