Tonight, when you look at your man, slumped in the La-Z-Boy, hand down his baggy trackies, eyes glazed as he watches the Ashes highlights, be grateful.
Be grateful that he's not some high-flying, snake-hipped, out-there A-lister, living it large and being seen in all the right places. Because at least your man won't be dragged into Auckland Central to explain his connections with known drug dealers.
Virtue really does bring its own reward, and while living in the 'burbs and being in bed by 10pm with your own spouse and no one else's, might be dull, being connected with a white-collar drug ring is the sort of excitement we could all do without.
The sooner the case gets to court, the better, or else the city will implode with the highly charged rumours doing the rounds. Everybody, it seems, has a mate who's a cop and they swear they've seen/heard certain celebs who are implicated, or they know for a fact Celeb A is going down.
Those who are found guilty of dealing drugs deserve everything they get, and those who have funded the drug rings deserve to be named and shamed. But let's wait until the case gets to court before dragging people's names through the mud.
