Q: Are there plans to upgrade Gills Rd in Albany? Alfred Raphael, Auckland.
A: North Shore City Council is progressively upgrading Gills Rd as subdivision developments demand it. It has no plans to upgrade the bridge.
Q: Two lanes on East Coast Rd lead off from the Constellation Drive lights heading north, but the road narrows to one lane at the lights at Windsor Park shops. Is there any reason the two lanes are not carried through this intersection? Alan Sullivan, Albany.
A: North Shore City has allocated $1.6 million in the next financial year to widen East Coast Rd from Hastings Rd to Sunrise Ave. As part of this, the section of East Coast Rd which passes the Windsor Park shops will get two northbound lanes.
Q: The increased popularity of train travel has led to parking problems in Glen Innes. On Merton Rd near the railway overpass the road is quite narrow and parking should be prohibited there. Would the council consider this? David Scott, Auckland.
A: They agree entirely, and will put in a broken yellow line on the station side of the road to outlaw parking.
Q: The bus stop on the corner of England St and College Hill has moved further down the hill, to the corner of Cascade St. That is fine. The problem is that the bus shelter hasn't been moved. Will it be? Jacquie Cronin, Freemans Bay.
A: The bus stop was moved while pedestrian islands were being put in. It will be moved back close to the shelter.
