Emergency services on the West Coast are attending a crash on Lower Buyller Gorge Rd where a campervan has gone down a bank.
A police spokesperson said the incident occurred on Lower Buller Gorge Rd around 4.15pm at Hawks Crag.
"A campervan has gone over a bank and one person is believed to be trapped in the vehicle with non-life threatening injuries," the spokesperson said.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand crews are working to free the person from the vehicle and a helicopter from Greymouth has been called in to assist.
The police spokesperson asks motorists to avoid the area if possible.
