Emergency services are at the scene of a house fire in Ponsonby this afternoon.
Northern Fire Communications shift manager Megan Ruru said the fire was in the wall cavity of the two-storey bungalow in Bright St, but it was not known if anyone was inside.
Six fire trucks were at the house after emergency services were called just after 4pm.
An ambulance has also been called to the scene.
