An emergency response was put in place at Nelson Airport after a small plane "reported difficulties" before coming in to land.
Police told 1 News they were advised that a small plane had reported difficulties around 5.45pm and was thought to be in trouble.
It landed safely shortly after the emergency response was put in place.
