In need of a better financial reporting system, dairy research organisation Dexcel has settled on SAP Business One, a pre-packaged solution for small-medium sized businesses
Dexcel intends to integrate and streamline internal processes for financial and customer relationship management, and to use new business applications that interface directly with the core SAP Business One system, including job costing and purchasing applications.
"One of our key business requirements is to report on financial performance to funding agencies in the public and private sector,'' says Steve McNae, Dexcel's corporate services and finance manager. ``Our current systems are limiting us from doing this in a meaningful and timely way. We went to market for a user-friendly system that would allow real-time financial reporting combined with tools for customer relationship management, job costing and purchasing.''
A key aim of the project is enabling accountability for staff in different locations so that they can improve the delivery of services to farmers and industry stakeholders throughout the country. ``We also want to improve the way we manage information about clients, so that we can target them more accurately with new services and personalised products."
"The project at Dexcel is a text book example of the SAP Business One proposition," said Steve Maskell of Eagle Technology, SAP's business partner in the deal.
"By providing access to the core SAP Business One applications, SAP allows its partners to rapidly develop new software modules and SAP Business One applications, which in turn, creates new business opportunities for the partner.''
