Almost 200 people have been waiting up to a year for a response from Hamilton Mayor Julie Hardaker as their emails sat idle in an account she did not know she had.
The mayor - who campaigned on transparency and communicating with the community - was shocked when she learned that 198 emails had been sent to julie.hardaker@council.hcc.govt.nz - set up for her when she was elected a year ago.
Her office is now trying to respond to the emails. The mayor's correct email addresses are mayor@hcc.govt.nz and julie.hardaker@hcc.govt.nz
