An email backlog is causing delays for customers of TelstraClear-owned internet service provider Paradise.
TelstraClear spokesman Mathew Bolland said he had become aware of the problem this morning.
Technicians were working on it but were not expected to have found the cause of the problem until this afternoon.
"It means people sending email could be waiting a number of hours for email to get through," he said.
As it was the holiday period he expected the number of emails being sent would be lower than on a normal weekday.
