She is a cautious character but this lop-eared gentle giant has very, very soft fur, according to SPCA general manager Jane Thompson.
A stray, she was taken to a Papatoetoe vet clinic by a member of the public on November 6. She has just had her annual vaccination and has been de-sexed.
The majority of animals taken into the SPCA's animal village in Mangere are cats and dogs but there are always 10-12 rabbits and a few guinea pigs available for adoption.
In August, staff had to contend with 118 guinea pigs. All of these have now been found a home.
