It's kitten season and the SPCA is inundated with cats of all ages. This 8-week-old stray loves to scale the bars of his cage at the SPCA in Mangere. He's one of four kittens who arrived on December 13 after being dropped off at the North Shore after-hours clinic. Don't worry about the green tinge to his ears - it means he has been de-sexed. He has also been vaccinated.
SPCA chief executive Bob Kerridge says the cattery never has fewer than 50 cats and kittens. Last week was the year's busiest.
