Mali is quiet and retiring, but she can put up with quite a lot, including noisy neighbours.
The 7-year-old black and white female cat has shown this by tolerating a vocal ginger puss next to her at the SPCA's Animal Village in Mangere.
Mali's former owners left her at the SPCA on December 10 because they were moving overseas.
Mali can be a little shy but is very friendly, says senior feline attendant Nicole Rushbrook.
Mali is one of the few cats occupying the cattery at the moment.
But other cats and kittens are in the animal hospital being neutered or having injuries treated.
After the tabby tortoiseshell that was featured in last week's Herald found a home, another 10 cats were adopted that day.
That isn't the most cat adoptions the SPCA has had in one day, but it is quite a large number, says Ms Rushbrook.
Mali is ready for adoption, and her village number is 69704.
* Each day over the holiday period the Herald is featuring a pet which needs an owner.
