This 5-year-old tabby is certainly not over the hill but she is a veritable senior citizen compared with the dozens of kittens who are bouncing off the walls at the SPCA's cattery.
She was brought in after spending seven weeks hanging round a building site in Avondale. Animal attendant Nicole Rushbrook said the tabby had a lovely nature but unfortunately did not get as much attention because "everyone wants to have a kitten".
Older cats would suit someone who did not have as much time to train a kitten, she said.
The tabby's village number is 86317.
Tane, the black rabbit featured on Tuesday, has been adopted by a North Shore daycare centre.
