KEY POINTS:
All Black great Stu Wilson was a fleet-footed winger on the rugby field and has proved just as elusive in sidestepping a $3000 bill.
A court has ordered the Sky TV commentator and celebrity speaker to pay $3103.79 in unpaid fees for his North Shore apartment.
Neighbours have objected to covering the outstanding body corporate fees, dating back to 2006, but lawyers for the apartment block have been unable to contact Wilson.
A newspaper public notice urged "anyone knowing the whereabouts of Stuart Sinclair Wilson" to alert him to the court order to appear in the North Shore District Court next month. However, the Herald on Sunday found the 54-year-old within minutes, and he was blissfully unaware of the unpaid bill for the property he rents to tenants.
"It's just one of those things you put on the backburners. It's a bit like me - I always wait for the final notice.
"It's under control. This might prompt me to write a cheque, eh," Wilson said, laughing.
A spokesman for Jennifer G Connell Barristers and Solicitors - acting on behalf of the apartment block - said Wilson had missed three out of four body corporate bills dating back to 2006.
"We haven't been able to catch up with him personally. Presumably Mr Wilson will see this and pay up," the spokesman said.
Wilson had a distinguished rugby career, scoring more than 50 tries for the All Blacks. He wore the All Black jersey 85 times and played in 34 tests, including nine overseas tours.
He was All Black captain in eight matches of the 1983 tour of England and Scotland. He retired from rugby in 1984.
