Ellerslie show sold for $3m

The Christchurch City Council has revealed it paid $3 million for the Ellerslie International Flower Show, after the Chief Ombudsman ruled it should release the figure.

Christchurch Mayor Bob Parker said the council had agreed because the Ombudsman found the quantum of funding was significantly greater than for other events.
